A few examples of simple actions you can take include:
– Purchasing sandbags and pre-cut plywood for your windows
– Trimming tree branches
– Bringing in outside furniture
– Preparing an emergency kit
– Keeping important documents in a safe place
– Refilling prescriptions so that you always have a seven-day supply
– Making sure your cell phone is fully charged prior to severe weather
– Purchasing backup charging devices to power electronics
– Listening for emergency information and alerts

directed by local officials.
Residents with transportation and a destination:
– Plan your route and destination early.
– Gas-up your vehicle.
– Leave well in advance to avoid heavy traffic.
